"Introducing Brunt from the isle of Guernsey, off the coast of Normandy. The three-year old trio delivers their all instrumental debut album that blows me away with strong, mountainous riffs that are accompanied by a relentlessly punishing bone shaking bass. In short, this is a great album and highly recommended."
"If you are into instrumental sludge Brunt is a band that you don't skip.
Brunt also offers great footage on Youtube if you purchase their album on Bandcamp. So grab your drink enjoy the warm-fuzz of Brunt."
“Across five tracks, the band’s sound spans from the crushingly heavy to lighter - almost space rock - passages to trashier tones, all of which are delivered with a sense of loose sonic architecture to build a set of tunes that take the listener on a journey, from muggy swamps to medieval battlefields to the outer reaches of both physical space and consciousness…”
"ingenious instrumental band with a cool jam atmosphere. 8/10"
if vocals were ever needed, it's not by these guys. With lots of fuzzy, hypnotic Stoner Rock riffs, and a hazy atmosphere about the whole thing, it feels like vocals would almost detract from the whole experience, regardless of the quality of the lyrics or vocalist.
"Lofty riffs floating amongst fluffy clouds pour bursts of flavor creating the ultimate iTunes visualizer. Fluorescent atmosphere combines with 50 shades of groove to bring faith back into the power of instrumental stoner rock. Apt comparisons cannot be denied ranking along the lines of Karma to Burn.
Almost tribal like drum blasts intensify the already psychedelic vibe. Feeling of rapture levitating the mind into a whirlwind of excitement. Soaring amongst the highest kites, Brunt electrify the auditory senses with riff after riff and groove after groove.
My faith in the almighty vocal less rock has been restored. Brunt construct a wide range of riffs from space rock, stoner rock to classic rock. Highly recommended." - gripofdelusion.tumblr.com/post/76952750584/brunt-brunt-review-by-bucky
"Brunt has the painful fuzz, has the heavy hypnotic riffs, has the groovy dark tunes needed to blow your mind and start the fuckin hard jammin.
UP the volume! enjoy some fine quality stoner and get insane!" - Huroniso (yotube)
"You'll definitely feel the full force of this new Guernsey trio. The absence of a vocalist draws plenty of attention to their hypnotic experimental music which ebbs and flows like a strong swamp tide. The music is lead by classic stoner rock riffs, dripping with thick overdrive to create a sludgy fuzzy bluesy sound backed by the solid doom drums/bass grooves of the Mariess brothers." - Vale earth (festival)
